A transitive verb is a verb that can have an object. Appeler is transitive: you can call someone. Mourir (to die) is not: you cannot die someone.
I usually don't teach vocabulary, but the members of
a family provide a good way to learn the possesive adjectives.
Visualize the examples. It is the best way, and the easiest one, to tell
the difference between "ses" and "leur", or "leur" and "leurs".
