Sorry, I will not protect future generations
Comme vous le savez, je ne suis pas une jardinière émérite. Pour tout empirer, je vis dans un environnement désertique qui n'aide pas beaucoup. Si vous imaginez de charmants vergers de palmiers autour d'un puits d'eau fraiche, ben, vous regardez un film. Antofagasta est un énorme tas de béton entre eau salée et poussière stérile.*
Ce matin, j'ai lu en quoi entretenir un jardin biologique pouvait améliorer ma santé et mon budget. Et donc, ci-dessous, la liste de ce que je n'aurai pas.
Je ne vais pas bénéficier d'une nourriture plus gouteuse. Je ne vais pas protéger les générations futures, empêcher l'érosion du sol, protéger la qualité de l'eau, économiser l'énergie, préserver mon assiette des produits chimiques, promouvoir la biodiversité, aider à embellir mon quartier.
La liste ajoute: "vous économiserez de l'argent", et m'explique que faire pousser ma propre nourriture diminuera mes factures d'épicerie. Soyons honnête. Je ferai des économies si je n'entretiens pas un jardin bio. Soit j'ai un petit jardin et je fais pousser deux brins de persil, soit j'ai un jardin assez grand pour subvenir aux besoins d'une famille et c'est tant de travail que je dois engager un assistant. Vous parlez d'une économie!

As you know, I am not much of a gardener. To make things worse, I live in a desertic environment that does not help a lot. If you imagine charming orchards of palm trees around a wells of fresh water, well, you are looking at a movie. Antofagasta is a huge pile of concrete standing between salted water and sterile dust.
This morning, I read how growing an organic garden could help my health and budget. So, below is what I will not get.
I will not enjoy a tastier food. I will not protect future generations, prevent soil erosion, protect water quality, save energy, keep chemicals off my plate, promote biodiversity, help beautify my community.
The list goes on with: "you will save money," and explains that growing my own food helps cut down the grocery bills. Let's be honest. I will save money if I do not grow an organic garden. Either I have a small garden and grow two sprigs of parsley, or I have a garden large enough to sustain a family and it is so much work that I have to hire an helping hand. Tell me about savings.
